Step 1) Set the switch on the Wi-Fi module to direct connect mode - UP POSITION
Step 2) Open the “Settings” app of your mobile device, go to the Wi-Fi section and select SkyQLink-
xx. (This mount is SkyQlink-14)
Step 3) Open SkyPortal app - CONNECT ONLY - If you don’t connect it will give you an error "WIFI
Module Error - Unable to red configuration information from Celestron Wi-Fi module.
Step 4) Tap the settings icon (gear symbol) and a Settings window will open.
Step 5) In the Settings window, there is a Telescope section. And in that section is a option for
“Communication”. Touch that option and the Communications Window will appear.
Step 6) In the Communications Window, make sure “DIRECT CONNECT” is selected and then tap the
button named “CONFIGURE ACCESS POINT”.
The Access Point Configuration window will appear
Select your SECURITY TYPE - Usually WPA
NETWORK SETTINGS - SSID is your network name
PASSPHRASE - The password you use to connect to your network
KEEP DHCP CLIENT TICKED
CLICK "Send Configuration to Wi-Fi Module
Step 7) A window will pop up - "Wi-Fi module Configured Successfully” - CLICK OK
Step

DISCONNECT & EXIT THE APP and switch the Wi-Fi button on the mount to the Access Point
Mode - DOWN POSITION
Step 9) Connect your device to your home Wi-Fi Network
Step 10) Open the APP on your device
Step 11) Go to SETTINGS - In the Settings window, there is a Telescope section. And in that section is
an option for “Communication”. Touch that option and the Communications Window will appear.
Step 12) Communication SETTINGS - Select - USE ACCESS POINT
Step 13) Go back to the main screen of the App and connect/ Connect and align. After about 20
seconds it will make a “PING” sound and you will be connected through your home network
It is now possible to communicate with mount, via SkyPortal, the internet at the same time. Links in
the SkyPortal app will resolve to the appropriate web page.
