В России надо отремонтировать!
Hello Maksim
I understand your situation and your EE is most likely right that the original firmware was destroyed in some manner. Unfortunately FLI does not allow our firmware to be sent to customers. The only sure method is to have the camera sent back to FLI for programming. I will check to see if it is possible for us to replace only the A/D printed circuit board. Would that be useful to you?

Dear Greg,
I am a Russian amateur astonomer doing astrophotography. In 2010, I
bought a FLI ML9000 from Igor Molotov. The camera worked perfectly for
several years, but eventually broke down last year. The symptom was
that images were entirely black.
I've sent the camera to an electronic engineer who has some experience
with these cameras. He first suspected the ADC circuit. After wiping
out the results of condensation accumulated over the years and
replacing the ADC chip, images changed significantly but were still
far from normal, and he put the old ADC back. So he now suspects PLD
that controls ADC - e.g. a cosmic ray hit could damage the firmware.
In that case, it would be easy to just reprogram the PLD if he had the firmware.
So I've got two options. The first one is to ask you for the firmware
and try fixing it here. The second option is to send it to you for
diagnostics and repair, but this is extremely complicated due to
customs rules, so I have to look for a way to bring it to the US (or,
at least, to Europe) on some occasion. I would strongly appreciate if
you could provide the firmware as this would save me much money and time for shipping.
