I really don't know what the SUMER campaign is. The instrument gets very little telemetry, though, so I doubt it will be anything that impacts LASCO. It will likely be something aimed at calibrating another instrument (on SDO, for example).
Если так и дальше будет продолжаться, то меня вот-вот начнёт одолевать истерический смех: все последние 7 открытых на SOHO комет – единолично мои.

Yes, our SoloHI images will be publicly available. SoloHi will not have a C3 field of view though. The instrument will be more like the Heliospheric Imagers on STEREO, and will be looking off the limb of the Sun. (At present there is still no planned replacement for LASCO should that instrument/satellite fail...) However, SoloHI will be extremely sensitive, as will our "WISPR" instrument on Solar Probe, and I anticipate us seeing a lot of very small and faint comets that we are currently unable to detect. My group at NRL are the principal investigator groups for both of these instruments on these two missions (ESA's "Solar Orbiter" and NASA's "Solar Probe Plus"), and so I plan to keep myself well-involved with the instrument development and mission operations so that we can get as much cometary science as possible from them. At this point it is our intention to continue the "Sungrazer" program as one of the focal points of outreach for these missions.
