Подскажите о
1) HIGH PRECISION WORM 50$
Насколько это необходимо? Деньги не большие, гемороя много, а результат будет?

"When you buy a new G-11 does it have the Precision Worm upgrade, or is
this something you need to purchase seperately?

Any NEW G11 will have the new worms unless it's been setting on a
shelf for the last 1 1/2 years or so (which I dought). Next time if you
would be so kind as to sign your post so we know what to call you.

Hi Mike,
Then you have the High Precision worms. Just ask OPT when they got it
from Scott and your problem about High precision worms is solved.
As somebody said here, it would be a miracle if a Losmandy mount is
longer then 3 months on the shelves of a warehouse.
They are selling lately like warm rolls out of a bakery :-))
Why could that be ? :-)) "

Having just gone through the purchasing decision, I'll tell you why I
did it.
When you've got an OTA of 27 lbs the G-11 fills the void between
the "nearly crap" and "God, I only wish I could afford it." It's
either an Orion Atlas, a G-11, or step on up to the big Takahashi
mounts. At a 35lb capacity limit, the EM-200 would be almost tapped
out. Which means I have to step up the EM-400, at $7,900.00, or stand
inline at Astrophysics for another 4 years to get an AP900.
I think Scott knew pretty well what he was doing when he designed
this mount; there's nothing else of this quality at this price point,
with this load capacity. Period.
The G-11 is an incredible bargain. Get 'em while you can ;-)

Hi Mike,
On Monday you asked about the high precision worms and today you
already know that the Takahashi mounts do have +-3.5 arcseconds
accuracy.
Sorry but even the Japanese manufacturer Takahashi does not give that
values in his advertisings.
Also this PE of the Takahashi has been a reason for a long discussion
in the UncensouredTakGroup in Yahoo and the common sense was, some do
have and some do not have it. If I remember well the common PE was
around +-5 to +-7 arseconds.
This is as well available in the Losmandy mounts and this is very
common when something is produced in mass and if you are lucky you
get a very good mount and if Murphy went to shop with you, you get a
bad one.
I would say most of us get the normal average and this is at the G11
about +-5 to +-7 arcseconds out of the box.
Now the Titan from my point of view has also no rival in the price it
is being sold. If you want a 100 pounds of carrying weight at
Takahashi you have to go for the EM500 which cost about US $
14,500.00. That is nearly 3 times the price of the Losmandy with
Gemini GoTo. OK now some will chime in and say yes but Takahashi
announces a little bit less then it really carries. OK, but as we do
not have the mounts handy for testing we have to go or take for
granted what is written in the advertisement.
I have a G11 on which I put about 55pounds (60 is the announced
capacity) for imaging and for me it works great.
As I did not know that my equipment would grow so fast I would have
bought from the beginning on a Titan, just to be on the safe side.
Now one important point is never discussed enough. The Gemini GoTo
from what I have read in different forums is the most sophisticated
GoTo control available for amateurs and for about less than US
1,500.00 you get this together with the Losmandy mounts.
I compared it the other day with the German made one. Boxdцrfer and
honestly, the Gemini GoTo is far better.
Frank, I know, the motors of the Boxdorfer are real war tanks and
drive your mount through the deepest mud but for everything there is
also a subtle solution.
Did you take a look also at the Mountain instruments MI-250 ? That is
also a nice mount.
regards Rainer"
