This option is also used if an Autostar is moved between telescopes, to match Autostar to the new telescope.
Calibrate motors should always be done first -- and should be done if you are running on internal batteries as the voltage drops more quickly on the internal batteries--
You need to set the telescope to one of the LXD75 options.
In short, I simply did two things:1) Reset the controller/mount using “Setup, Telescope, Reset”2) Trained the drives using “Train drives” under telescope setup for both RA/Az and Dec/Alt.Hard to believe, but it was that simple. That at least solved the drive slewing “backwards” after i slewed manually either up or down.
I trained on a ground target with the cross of the finderscope and after this ...NO MORE EXAGERATED BACKSLASH !This operation did what Reset did not !Thanks to all to kindly help me to solve the problem !
I was operating the mount successfully until September this year when it began misbehaving by running backward from the direction I was trying to point it and then running at full speed regardless of the speed setting on the Autostar hand controller.
When all was said and done I realized that when the problems first started I had swapped out the power supply with another one that I had so I could use some dew strips that I had received in trade when I sold the ETX. Once I put the original power supply back the motors worked correctly.
I can finger turn the RA smoothly going in one direction, but it hesitates/skips in the reverse direction with equipment loaded (and mostly in balance).
All joking aside, just balancing heavy to the east and not doing meridian flips, I could get results. If you are just going to be doing visual, just mark the counterweight shaft so you know where to move the weight when you flip sides.
