http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity_Research_Foundation другого языка нет). История Фонда исследовании гравитации началась в 1948 году бизнесменом Роджером Бэбсоном (основатель Babson College). Фонд первоначально был предназначен для поиска путей реализации гравитационного экранирования. поиски гравитационного экрана закрылись в конце 1960-х, но сохранился сам Фонд и ежегодный конкурс (контест) и награждение эссе научных исследователей по гравитационной тематике. Нельзя сказать, что премия Фонда аналог Нобелевской премии. На официальном сайте

что "не густо"). Однако, не в деньгах счастье; премия оказывается достаточно престижна

Среди лауреатов кроме неизвестных исследователей "попадаются" и ныне общепризнанные мэттры , в том числе физик Стивен Хокинг, который выиграл в 1971 году, математик / автор Роджер Пенроуз , который выиграл в 1975 году, астрофизик, лауреат Нобелевской премии Джордж Смут, который выиграл в 1993 году. Другие победители заметные премии были Паскуаль Йордан, Чарли Мизнер, Jacob Бекенштейн , Сидни Коулман , Брайс Девитт , Джулиан Швингер ( Нобелевская премия по физике , 1965 ) , Деннис Sciama , Роберт Уолд , Джон Арчибальд Уилер, Лоуренс Краусс и Фрэнк Вильчек.
